Lorri Honeycutt's Summer Garden Party, wins Poster Art Contest

The Wilmington Art Association and 36th Annual Juried Spring Art Show and Sale Committee are pleased to announce that Lorri Honeycutt's Summer Garden Party has won the Poster Art Contest. This artwork will be used for Show publicity and printed materials, and will be for sale at the Show in April. Summer Garden Party is a macro photograph. The background is watercolor paper and the small figures are a mix of handmade and collectible toys. The resulting photo was taken with a digital camera—no enhancements or software manipulation. All of Lorri’s images are settings that she creates first and then photographs. This piece was published as a cover for Sunshine Artists Magazine and now hangs as part of the permanent collection at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN. Lorri grew up in Carolina Beach and has had a lengthy career in the high tech computer world in Texas. Since 2004 she has been pursuing her photography. “My macro photos are a mix of miniature figures posed in clever situations. My goal is to make you think and then smile.” You can see more of Lorri’s work by visiting, Lorri@BigWorldProductions.
